Welcome on arrival at Kolkata Airport / Station and transfer to Raichak. As per history – this place was once an extremely important point on the shipping route – it gained notoriety as pirates started attacking the trade ships causing loss of life and goods. The government put up a fort here – which maintained surveillance and provided protection to the passing ships. But with passage of time the fort fell to ruins and forgotten. The place has now gained popularity as beautiful picnic destination near Kolkata on the banks of Ganges.
Overnight stay at Raichak.
Set out for a day trip to Gangasagar – transfer to Harwood point Jetty (60 Kms / 2hrs). Then board the Ferry to Kachuberia and transfer to the Kapil Muni ashram on a local vehicle.
Kapil Muni Ashram – is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimages. The annual fair held every year on Makar Sankranti is an event when pilgrims from all over the country come to take a dip in the holy waters of Ganga-Sagar. Return and overnight at Raichak
The morning after breakfast transfer to Kolkata and check-in at your pre-booked hotel.
Afternoon enjoys half a day local sightseeing (04 hrs / 40Kms)- covering Kalighat Kali Temple, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Victoria Memorial (museum closed on Monday), drive past the heritage buildings of BBD Bag – Writers’ Building, Raj Bhawan, GPO, High Court; the famous Howrah Bridge. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Kolkata hotel.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kolkata airport for your onward journey.
